Adele Bloch-Bauer and St Joan

We got up this morning and headed out in the rain.  We had our raincoats and umbrellas so we were prepared.  We headed up to Kitchen Arts and Letters first.  It's a wonderful bookstore of just cookbooks!  Then we walked down to E.A.T. for lunch before strolling over to the Met to see the Schiaparelli and Prada exhibit which was great but not as good as last year's Alexander McQueen.  We also stopped to see the restored Washington Crossing the Delaware and to take a picture of Tony's favorite painting of St. Joan.  I texted it to him and it made him happy!

Today is the Museum Mile Festival so all the museums along a mile of 5th Avenue are open for free.  We wanted to see the Klimt Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer so we stood for one hour in the rain waiting for the museum to open.  The time passed pretty quickly and it was worth it!  When we left, the line was down the block.

After the Neue Gallery we changed clothes and went to dinner at Sfoglia where Adrian, a Louisiana girl herself, is part owner.  Jane E brought her a little "happy" from Cajun Country...an LSU t-shirt.  Our meal was over-the-top good and it was really fun meeting Adrian.  We headed back to the apartment in the rain...it never let up all day.  I expect to sleep well tonight!
