Wind, Snow, Ice

We flew in on Saturday and checked into the hotel.  It started snowing as we were in the taxi line at LaGuardia.  The snow was really pretty coming down.  This is  a photo from inside the hotel, looking out at a taxi in the snow.

We had lunch at the Plaza Food Court.  On the way we stopped for this picture.

We had lunch and then rested a bit.  Dinner was on the UES so we walked about half way in the horizontal snow until it just got too cold and wet.  We grabbed a cab and then had a wonderful dinner.  Fortified, we walked all the way back to the hotel after dinner and slept like babies.

Since T has had his alarm set for 4:30am every single day for weeks on end (except weekends when he's not on call), we have been trying to sleep in.  We slept pretty late today, got breakfast and then headed out.  We made a couple of stops along the way...Barney's for T a hat that covers his ears.  Lots of options!  Dad, I needed these choices for your Christmas hat!

Then we walked up to the Guggenheim to see the Picasso Black and White exhibit.  Along the way we  ran into this cute little bichon.  I thought she looked so much like Madeline.  I Instagramed it and said that Madeline was now livin' the life as a Manhattan biker dog!

We had to wait in line for a while at the Guggenheim.  I looked up and snapped this picture.  It turned out really great!

I have looked through some old pictures, and I think every time I come to the Guggenheim, I take a picture that looks just like this.  So here's the latest.

Below...top of the atrium.

After seeing the Picasso Black and White exhibit, we walked into the park.  Below are several pictures from just walking around.

I had T snapped this picture because I have one just like it from a snow storm in 1985 that his brother Barry took.

Below is Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church.

And then finally, here's me in the park!

We Ate New York

We spent Thursday at MoMA.  The weather was nice so we sat in the Sculpture Garden for a while.

Friday morning we woke up just before 5:00 to watch Shreveport's Kendrick Farris compete in  Olympic Weightlifting 85k.

We went to the American Folk Art Museum Friday afternoon.  It is now located near Lincoln Center.

Then we walked in the park while eating our Mr. Softee ice cream and milk shake.

Hannah being silly.

I love this picture.  The tree leaves and branches are in the shape of a heart.  The building is one that I have been watching; it's being built on 57th Street.  I heard it's supposed to be 90 stories tall.

I thought this was funny.  Those legs sticking out belong to a dog.
