Chewbacca

Today we went to the Williamsburg Flea Market in Brooklyn and had the best time.  It was hot but there were all kinds of food and drink.  We walked around all the booths before deciding what we wanted for lunch.  We ended up with pulled pork sandwiches with slaw (one of the best things I have eaten!) and Lynn had a special grilled cheese.  We had Arnold Palmer slushes with mango.  Perfect for such a hot day!

One booth had two really cute girls working there and they had some cute things for sale.  One of Jane E's friends is up here visiting her daughter and she met us at the flea market.  She was browsing the watercolors on the wall of this booth and all of a sudden, the place was swarming with a camera and a long boom and video people with walkie-talkies.  It was part of Lara Spencer's show Flea Market Flip (click the link).  They filmed Jane E's friend talking about why she liked the watercolors and why she would buy them.  Next to them was a booth with a couple selling large, old mailboxes that they had painted and turned into doggie kennels.  The show is a competition and these two booths were part of the show and hoping to sell the most.  I wonder who won.

Why would you even TRY to sell these at a flea market?  Half of them didn't have erasers.  It makes a really colorful picture though!

NEVER FEAR!  Manhattan is being protected by space heroes!  I think that's Luke Skywalker, a Storm Trooper and Chewy.

On the subway heading back into Manhattan, I noticed a young guy's tattoo.  I wondered why he would want that statement forever on his arm.  But people make ALL KINDS of choices!  Exhibit A.  (The tattoo is a tombstone with SOMEBODY at the top.  The dates of birth and death are Sometime to Sometime and the bottom of the tombstone says HE TRIED.

We went to Redeemer tonight and then to dinner at Babbo.  Another great day in the Naked City.
