Walking...fast...in the ccccoooold!!

This morning we headed out to the Ann Hamilton "the event of a thread" installation at the Park Avenue Armory.  We haven't totally figured it all out yet but it was very cool.  The armory was strung with giant swings and the swings were attached to levers that made a big white curtain rise and fall as the swings moved.  The billowing curtain was very cool and there were lots of opportunities for great photos!

Below is a picture I mistakenly overexposed or something...I don't even know what I did..but it turned out pretty cool when I fiddled with it in iPhoto on my computer.  You can see a few of the people who have on brightly colored clothing.

After the Armory, we walked to a diner for lunch and then to see the tree at Rockefeller Center.  It was beautiful and there were lots of people there taking pictures.

We have generous friends who gave us a gift certificate to 11 Madison Park where we had dinner tonight.  It was quite the event!  We were so stuffed afterwards that we walked back to the hotel...from 23rd Street to 61st! Almost two miles!  It felt good though to walk but by the end, my face was frozen.  It was below freezing and the wind was blowing a little.

I took a few pictures on the way to the hotel.  Below is the library with the lions guarding the entrance.

Here is a sliver of Grand Central Station with the Chrysler Building in the background.

And again, another picture of Rockefeller Center and the tree.

The stars hanging over 5th Avenue...
