A Little More of New York Summer 2015

These are a few more pictures from our trip.  Below is a picture of a statue of Dr. Marion Sims.  This caught my eye because I was born in a hospital named for him.

One of our friends in the park!

Tony and I ran across a photographer along the poets' walk in the park who took photos with old Polaroid cameras.  We thought about coming back after we had changed but decided not to waste the opportunity and went ahead and commemorated the moment even though we were ragged looking from our walk in the park.

Fleet Week 2015!!!  Service men and women covered the city!

Bill and I toured the Kips Bay Decorator House on E 66th Street.  It was incredible!  Decorating firms designed each room on each floor.  There were five floors and three outdoor spaces.  Art hung all along the walls of the spiral staircase.  It was over the top!  We loved it!

Bill and I also walked through Chelsea Passage in Barney's.  We took a selfie in a huge round mirror for sale.

I love books!  I love reading them and browsing through them and spending hours on end in book stores.  This art book display at Barney's was particularly pretty.

We went to the Met to see the exhibit "Through the Looking Glass," the Chinese costume exhibit.  This is a fabulous gown by Alexander McQueen.

Can't leave the Met without a trip to the rooftop...for the view if not for the art exhibit.

I love NYC flea markets and in particular the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market; however, the last two years this flea has been a bust.  There are not many vendors anymore and there seems to be more junk  than cool, retro, interesting things.  I did find these leather fringed vests....so summer of 1969...I was tempted but didn't come home with one.

It's always fun to catch up with our friends Soo and Aaron.  We met them for brunch and caught up on all the latest happenings in their lives.

Random photo of the globe at Columbus Circle

Summer is on its way and soon these ice cream trucks will be selling out!

On the way home from dinner one evening we saw the designers at Henri Bendel's taking down the old window displays and putting up the new ones.  This photo reminded me of
Hopper's Night Hawks!

This is not an NYC picture but one my brother sent me of my nephew in a cycling race.  He came in 5th overall!  Loved the photo so I wanted to include it.
